WIRE EDM

Gravitas 2000 Ltd. uses state-of-the-art wire EDM equipment (Sodick) for the machining of precision, small and medium serie, complex tool inserts and machine parts made of exotic materials (ruled surfaces). These are mostly produced for the tool manufacturing industry, the general machine industry and most importantly for the medical industry.

Optimally, the equipment is used for the wiring of rotational surfaces of Ǿ 3 to 150 mm and for the wiring of parts and tool inserts that are 650 x 650 mm long and up to 600 mm tall.

Gravitás 2000 Ltd. makes regular upgrades to its tool supply and ensures a consistently high quality and precision of tool-based machinings by the way of planned maintenance.

Our premium category equipment, as well as our highly skilled professionals allow us to achieve the optimal preparation and cycle times when implementing the wiring of ruled surfaces, even when we are faced with complex geometries and complicated surfaces.

We can also satisfy special geometric needs by using CAD/CAM systems, as well as 5- and 8-axis equipment. Prior to the material removal, we use the applied design software in order to check the tool path and the result of the machining process.

With wire EDM, it is essential to create a bored hole, which we accomplish using a 5-axis EDM drilling machine and if necessary, we use a tungsten electrode.

Satisfying special needs includes the increased precision and the highest level of efficiency.
